Blohm und Voss BV 222 |
The flying boat BV 222 with it's six engines was designed for comercial
use on the Nort-Atlantic-flights before WWII. The first prototype made it's
first flight in September 1940. Eigth further prototypes followed which saw
service in the Lufttransportstaffel See 222 in the mediterranean sea. The
prototypes V2 and V5 were equipped with Hohentwiel-radar and Neptun-radar
for sea reconnaissance purposes. The last prototype was the V9 followed by
the series-planes C-010 to C-013. More planes were not built.
