Junkers Ju 52

In 1929 Zindel began with the construction of the one-enginend Ju 52/1 m. Based on that type which was exported to Canada and Sweden the three-enginend airliner Ju 52/3m was develloped. The first flight was in March 1932. The Ju 52/3m was in military use before the second world war. It was used in the illegal Risiko-Luftwaffe of Germany and in Spain with the Legion Condor as an auxillary night-bomber. For that use the plane was equipped with several MGs. The bombload was abot 1.500 kg. After the war some hundred Ju 52 were produced in France and Spain named CASA 352-1. The Ju 52 helds the record in transporting more than 120.000 wounded.
A special-version was equipped with an overall metall-ring for mine-sweeping purposes.
