Messerschmitt Bf 109

The Me 109 was the standard fighter of the Luftwaffe during the whole war. It was also used for reconnaissance purposes. The prototype of the Bf (or Me) 109 made his first flight in1935. The Bf 109 B-1  was the first version which was produced in series. The E-version saw it's service during the first years in the war, with the E-5 beeing a tactical foto-reconnaissance modell. The F-versions were followed by the G-versions, the next great production part, with the G-6 beeing specialised for hunting bombers.
